Cable ducts are a device for assembling cables and wires and their compact laying at the site of electrical work.

• Carrying out repair work will be a simple task: you just need to open the required part of the box and carry out the necessary work. No re-drilling of walls and filling them with putty. 
• In the event of a short circuit, the box will not light up, since it is made of a refractory material – polyvinyl chloride. 

Disadvantages 

• Used only with overhead sockets. 
• May get hot during operation. 

Taking into account the small number of disadvantages and significant advantages, the price of cable channels in Ukraine is acceptable. 

Restrictions on the use of PVC slotted panel trunkings

No matter how convenient these products are, there are some restrictions on their use. 

Do not run vinyl duct wiring in wooden houses. In them, the wires must be exclusively in a metal frame. 

Why? If a short circuit occurs in the wiring, the walls of the cable ducts themselves will not be ignited. However, they heat up and may melt. And this will lead to a fire of adjacent parts, which is very dangerous in wooden structures. 

In this sense, metal trays are more reliable. Even in the case of a short circuit directly to their case, they will last a sufficient amount of time for the protective mechanism in the switchboard to work.
